L. Lorrain letter to John S. Phillips [manuscript], 1894 December 25.

Lorrain objects to the dropping of the subtitle of his reminiscences ("Personal reminiscences of the Emperor Napoelon III and of the Court of the Tuileries, 1867-1870"). Although S. S. McClure has assured him the omission will not make any difference his future plans depend on the success of the publication. He will bring pictures and illustrations for the memoir, notes that he is quite ill and wants a proof of the wax-cast.
